Welcome to Leading Ladies of Legacy! We are a national organization dedicated to empowering and inspiring young black girls to reach their full potential.
Our mission is to provide girls with the resources and support they need to succeed in school and beyond, and we do this through a variety of programs and initiatives. One of the ways that you can get involved with Leading Ladies of Legacy is by starting a chapter in your community. By starting a chapter, you can help bring our mission to life in your own backyard, and make a difference in the lives of young black girls in your community. Starting a chapter is easy, and we provide all the resources and support you need to get started.
Here’s how:
1. Get in touch: The first step is to get in touch with us! You can reach out to us through our website or social media channels, and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you have about starting a chapter.
2. Gather a team: Once you’ve decided to start a chapter, the next step is to gather a team of like-minded individuals who share your passion for empowering young black girls. This could include friends, family members, or colleagues who are interested in getting involved.
3. Choose a focus: Every Leading Ladies of Legacy chapter has its own unique focus, based on the needs and interests of the community it serves. Some chapters focus on literacy development, while others may focus on STEM education or leadership development. Choose a focus that resonates with you and your team.
4. Plan your activities: Once you’ve chosen a focus, it’s time to plan your activities! This could include organizing book clubs or writing workshops, hosting girl-themed events or field trips, or providing mentorship opportunities for young black girls.
5. Spread the word: Finally, it’s time to spread the word about your new chapter! Use social media, flyers, and other outreach strategies to let people in your community know about the work you’re doing. And don’t forget to connect with other Leading Ladies of Legacy chapters in your area for support and collaboration.
